The OU Sooner Flight Academy camps challenge students ages 4-18 to learn scientific and mathematic principles using aviation education. Students experience the effects of science, math, engineering and technology as they participate in exciting aviation activities during flight camp.

Hands-on experiences incorporate team building and cooperative learning to teach the principles of flight, aerodynamics, aerial navigation, Newton's Laws, aircraft instrumentation, Bernoulli's Principle, materials, science, general math and science, and the history of flight.

Preschoolers ages 4-5 bring an adult with them and enjoy a half day of aviation fun! Experience a variety of hands-on learning stations where students explore the science of flight, fly the biplane simulator, and participate in an interactive introduction to aviation. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years of age or older. Photo and all program materials are provided. Back

Flyers blast off into a brave new world of aviation and space technology. Students experience math, science, and history through a variety of aviation related hands-on activities. They gain basic knowledge in aerodynamics, physics and rocket science. Bring a sack lunch each day. T-shirt, photo and all program materials are provided. Back

Pilots move beyond a textbook as they explore the wonders of math, science, and history through hands-on, interactive, aviation activities. Each day is packed with unique experiences that are exciting, challenging, and fun. The week ends when flight becomes a reality as they enjoy airplane rides over Norman. Bring a sack lunch each day. Fly the sky in an OU airplane in this action packed week of hands-on activities. Aviators experience physics, aerodynamics, math, science, and engineering skills at a new level. Bring a sack lunch each day. Airplane ride, t-shirt, photo, and all program materials are provided. Back

This class prepares students ages 12-13 for the elite Aces program by stepping up the level of technology, instruction, and FUN! Hands-on activities and problem-solving initiatives keep these Top Guns focused on flight! Bring a sack lunch each day. Airplane ride, t-shirt, photo, and all program materials are provided. Back

Aces experience a weeklong hands-on introduction to private pilot ground school. Students learn to calculate speed, distance, fuel and wind components using flight computers, gain a basic understanding of aircraft instrumentation, and map skills necessary to plot a cross-country course. The Team Quest Challenge Course will test them as an individual and as a member of a team. They join the elite when they pilot an OU airplane on a cross-country flight with the help of a certified flight instructor. Bring a sack lunch each day. Must have attended one session of Aces camp AND be 15 years old by September 1. This college prep class is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary for entry into the exciting field of aviation. This intense learning experience explores math, science, engineering and aviation through demonstrations, classroom participation, hands-on activities, presentations, and contact with professionals and faculty in the field of aviation. Must have attended Flight Zone camp AND be 16 years old. Explore the world of Aviation Careers in this camp! Cadets will take a series of field trips to locations around the city for hands on experiences in today's most exciting career paths. Learn what the fields are all about as well as how to persue them.

Partnered with University Outreach's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Grand Camp is an opportunity for grandparents to share a unique learning experience teaming up with their grandchildren, ages 9-12, for a “day of high-flying fun.”
