Sooner Flight Academy's program for seniors. This exciting
3-1/2 day program will provide learners with an overview of
aviation, aerodynamics, rocketry, and ground school.
Blast off into a brave new world as you learn about Newton’s
Laws and build and launch your own rocket!
Join the elite as you tour the FAA Mike Monroney Center in
Oklahoma City. Activities may include but are not limited
to touring the CAMI facility including the burning aircraft
simulation and crash test sled, participating in the Tower
Cab Simulator, and performing a crash investigation at the
boneyard.
Plot and fly a short cross-country course! Use sectional
charts, calculate headings, distances, and wind components
to ensure on-time arrival at your destination.
Fly
the course you plotted with the help of a certified flight
instructor, tour the Tower at Max Westheimer Field, and build
your own workable hovercraft.
Camp includes all instruction, supplies, photo, transportation
to and from tours, flights, and lunch at Ozzie’s Diner
each day. Classes are held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the OU
Sooner Flight Academy at Max Westheimer Airport in
NW Norman.
